Why do I need to worry about cleaning my rain gutters?
Gutters need cleaning as part of regular home maintenance. The purpose of rain gutters is to divert water away from your home's foundation, to keep your siding from getting wet, as well as eliminate getting dripped-on when approaching your home. There is no contraption in existence that will keep EVERYTHING out of your gutters. Many leaf guard products are scams, shamefully targeting well-meaning homeowners and seniors who have difficulty performing this type of maintenance. The guards become clogged too and need regular cleaning, which causes water to drip along the length of the rain gutter. This totally defeats the purpose of having rain gutters. Others have a no-clean guarantee, where the company will come clean your gutters if they ever get clogged. Simple screen-type leaf guards, which are inexpensive, will help reduce the number of cleanings your gutters need, depending on the type of debris ending up in the gutter. How often should I have my gutters cleaned?
Two times a year is sufficient for most homes. Once in the spring and once in the fall, especially before the heavy rains hit. A third cleaning may be necessary if your property is heavily wooded or the trees produce a lot of debris.
What's involved in cleaning gutters?
We remove all debris from gutters and downspouts, including the surrounding roof areas. We also clean-up all gutter-related debris from the ground. We will also perform a visual inspection of the gutter system as well as the surrounding areas and suggest corrective action if needed. (Soffits, fascia boards, roof edges, etc..)
